thinking about getting a yukon nv monocular with the scope adaptor and 100mw ir emmitor...not sure which which on to go for (if either !) either the nvmt 1 (2 x 24) or nvmt 4 (1 x 24) ?? any one had any experience with these set ups ?

Good little set up but go for an IR Laser like a L3 or N800 not a 100mw ir illuminator LED 8)

is the extra expense worth it ? i was thinking about using a ir filter on a big spotting lamp and using another unit for spotting then using the unit on the scope for shooting. What sort of range can i expect out of the emmitor ?

Around 50 yards for eye shine if the scope is good and doesn't block to much light out

Got all my bits now,i made the bracket as i went for the N800,not the yukon with scope adaptor. Only tried it on the rapid in the garden shooting rats but it seems pretty good, the ir laser is awesome.Going to give it a go on the rf tonight so i will see if i need a scope with parallax adjustment.

just be very carefull not to get any bounce back from buildings or trees from the laser as this will tend to damage the tube in the monocular but it does look a good little set up you have there.and be carefull not to point the the rifle to the ground as well while the unit is switched on as again damage can occur.

and yes as geoff has said the laser is a good price.

great info on this thread  i was just wondering which mag you went for - the nvmt (2 x 24) or (1 x 24), ie if you were happy with your scopes magnification would the (1 x 24) be the best option, sorry for the silly question but im new to NV

If you are thinking of putting it behind a day scope go for the 1x24 if using as a straight forward spotter go for the higher mag
